Error 24. Magic Movie Pro 16HD

Started using the above software after a break of a few years. It did ask me to download a newer version which I did. When trying to burn the DVD "MPEG- 2 codec function one time activation" message appeared.

I had already paid for this key some years ago, when the same thing happened, so how do I overcome this problem now?

I have had this software along time and installed from a Magic Program DVD, with 2001 - 2010 version written upon it.

I have a Windows 7 64bit laptop / 8 GB ram and 500 Mb hard drive.

I have the serial number and the proDAD Adorage 10 SE number also on the back of the DVD.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Brian.

If this was a re-install, have you gone to the top task bar and clicked on 'Help' and then scrolled down to 'Install extra content'. It should be listed there if still active. If it's not listed then you will need to get in contact with Magix.

This error number usually means the serial number has already been registered to another email address.

Are you using a different email address from the one the software was originally registered with?

. . . . It did ask me to download a newer version which I did . . . .

Was this a patch or an upgrade - what is the full name and version number as found under Help, About ?

Hi. Thanks for the prompt response. Yes I did have a talk talk email address long ago, which is now defunct. But I am able to connect to Magic site with my new email address and new changed password.

Not sure about upgrade question. Says it is now Magic Movie Pro 16 Version 9.0.1.60 (C1) with the same Serial number.

Their is no "install extra content" tab either.

Hi Brian.

When you paid for the key you would have received an email with the key in it. You would have to request from Magix to resend the key if you no longer have the email. It's a good idea to print out any emails with such keys and put into a folder for safe keeping or this type of thing tends to happen. I tend to archive my receipts onto backup disks but even that can be risky if they for whatever reason, later can't be read by newer programs or operating systems.

There is a contact button for magix at the bottom of this page.

Tried a few times to contact them but a message keeps coming saying" your software is too old" A little frustrating.

You probably had to register here with your new email address and password, however if the software was registered using the old email address then this would not have changed.

Thanks for the version number - it was a patch you were asked to download and install.

AFAIK the disc version had everything on it and the extra content is for the download version only. All the 'extras' should already be installed from the disc.
