Apologies. It should have read "Having just downloaded Sound Forge 14 I get an error 59 when trying to open the program."

Are you stating that Sound Forge does not open? Was it working prior or is this the initial installation and you cannot even get to the activation process? Where did the installation file come from? Is this the "Steam' edition?

btw, welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @Trevor-Daniels

This was a brand new installation from the Magix website. The download completed successfully and a shortcut was created. As soon as I click on the shortcut I get the error message relating to error code 59.

"The download completed successfully"

Does this mean: after downloading the install manager <***dlm.exe> file, you installed SF, and it stated it completed successfully? (sorry, I am not clairvoyant and cannot assume anything).

I appreciate you're not "clairvoyant": equally, I'm not a computer programmer! I simply downloaded the program as sent and clicked on the shortcut. All I get is a window headed Application Initialisation and a message Error code: -59.

So I gather it did not install. In that case, go to the Magix Download Center and download the installer app again. You will need your log-in info and your SF serial number. The PC must remain connected to the internet all the way through to activation.
