Error Message -24

Hi everyone,

 

I have registered my products and used them previously.

However, everytime I try and use SOUND FORGE 15.0 it asks for registration and email, despite having green ticks against both categories.

Anyway so I think, it wants me to press the register button again but it won't let me register online, saying it's already registered!!

 

At the moment I can't use the software at all and am starting to think maybe I shouldn't keep using it anymore.

@Matth Are you trying to enter a different e-mail address compared to your registered e-mail? This is not possible. If you want to change your e-mail address, please visit Magix.com, log into your customer account and change the e-mail in the account settings.

If you get the same error message while entering the correct e-mail address, please look up Sound Forge under 'My Products' in your customer account and open the details and deactivate the installations. This might help.

@Matth Do you still have access to your previous installation of Sound Forge or was it uninstalled or is the computer no longer available? Your correct e-mail address should be shown under Help > About. This problem might be caused by either having a typo in your e-mail address or you misremembering the e-mail address. If it's not listed in your current customer account it's very likely registered in another customer account.

Only Magix support staff can help you here to find it. The problem is, that some users here already reported that human support staff is not easy to reach. They introduced this AI bot one month or two ago with the goal to block 90% of support requests. Some users allegedly weren't able to reach a human over multiple weeks.

Hello Matth,

It's unfortunate that you haven't been able to resolve your issue (yet). As a moderator, I see that you changed your name from Matthew-Hopcropt to Matth on August 26, 2025. Did you also happen to change your email address?
You need to register Sound Forge 15.0 with the email address and serial number you used to register it the first time.

...What was strange about all this is that my account doesn't have the products registered...

This could also mean that you have another Magix account with which you activated Sound Forge 15.0 in the past. See this link: MAGIX Helpcentrum - How do I solve error message "-24"

I didn't change my email address. In fact the account wasn't even working until I managed to use my old address and password to create a new account with Magix. Why that was effective I have no idea as the software is registered already. I just can't actually get it to register with the server when I try to open the software.

 

I know this sounds very confusing but I actually did pay for the software. I can't access it anymore so I'll just give up on using it altogether.

 

the name on xxxxx@outlook.com was Vert Igo but I changed it to my actual name later on. The actual email address is exactly the same..

 

Anyway, if anyone can access the software using the codes successfully, please help yourself. The chances of actually getting tech support aren't good.

We, as moderators, don't have access to your personal information. Therefore, I advise you to send an email to infoservice@magix.net and explain your problem. You can include your personal information in this email. They can use this information to investigate matters for you.

Hi, sorry for posting that personal information.

I am not holding out much hope that tech support will actually answer my emails so I will leave the software and try alternatives outside of magix brand for now.
