Error message: Cannot display wave header

Norianna wrote on 6/3/2021, 6:01 PM

** I am using Magix Movie Edit Pro Plus**

As of the last week when I go to use the software to edit some videos, the same message keeps popping up saying :Cannot Display Wave Header" whenever I hit play on the video screen.

If I hit "ok" on the button, stop the video and restart it, it will usually play fine until I stop the video. In which case when I start the video again to continue editing (review my work) that same message will pop up.

Any ideas how to get rid of this?

Also, currently when I am watching the video content in the video screen in the editor- the video keeps flickering in and out of a black screen, though I suspect when I go to download the video at the end the end result will turn out ok. Any thoughts?

@Norianna

Hi Norianna and welcome to the user to user forums.

This is a new problem I've not seen mentioned on the forums before. It does seem to point to a problem with the files in use.

To find out what is wrong you need to download MediaInfo. Click on the blue word to the link for the program.

Once installed, find one of the problem files on your drives and right click the file. You will see MediaInfo in the list of programs in the drop-down list. Click on MediaInfo.

Click on any image to enlarge it and click to one side of the image to come back to this page.

That should then open the mediainfo program. Go to the view tab and select the text view.

That should give you the view below which you can copy and paste the result here for us to examine and see if there are any problems with the files.

If there is nothing wrong with the files then we will ask more questions to try to help you get to the bottom of this problem.

Some problems can be hardware or software related and it is difficult to give a precise answer without additional questions and answers.

Ray.
