Experiencing Feedback Distortion When Sound Forge Studio 14 is Open

Experiencing a weird issue. If I play an audio file from my computer it plays fine…but if I open Sound Forge it plays back as straight feedback distortion. Once Sound Forge has been opened, audio files played from other sources (youtube, Spotify, etc) also play back as straight feedback distortion until I restart my machine. My wife is experiencing the same issue on her machine. I linked a video of this happening. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks!

Does this happen with all file types? Try a PCM file. Some PCs with Sound Forge AS (Audio Studio) have been known to have issues playing back MP3 files. An uninstall/reinstall has fixed this behavior in many cases.

Try another 'audio device type'. Classic Wave Driver and MS Sound Mapper are generally trouble free. ASIO drivers are not really necessary with editing apps if that is what you are using.
I am not familiar with the Audio Studio menus but in SF Pro, the audio device type settings are in "Options> Preferences> Audio" which may give you a clue where to look in AS.

If you have a external interface, go to the manufacturer's support or forum.

Welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users forum @Jeff-Gehlert and btw, the white noise in the video is not "feedback".
