Export Video Problem

mjfabs wrote on 3/17/2014, 9:17 AM

Hello,

I'm having an issue when I export my project with jerky shakey video. It plays fine in my preview screen but when I burn it to a disk or export as AVI etc., parts of the movie stutter and are jerky. Its mainly the slow motion clips. I've tried it on 2 different dvd players and on my computer with the same results.  I have MEP 2014 plus. My system is:

Hi

Did you have the Interpolate intermediate images set in the Speed effect dialog

Note - it is not realistic to expect to be able to reduce the speed to less then 0.1 x the original without getting some jerkiness.

Here is an example of 1/10th speed (0.1 x) - original 25fps with interpolation turned on.

HTH

John,

The box is not checked but when I do check it, the video is super choppy in the preview monitor. It was very smooth in the monitor unchecked but was an issue when watching it on the dvd or on my computer after exporting as AVI. Could it be something during the rendering?

Hi

. . . . The box is not checked but when I do check it, the video is super choppy in the preview monitor. . . .

If this is HD video then that would not surprise me at all - there is a lot of processing / rendering going on creating the intermediate frames and despite your very decent spec computer it may be struggling to keep up with the video depending on what else is running on your computer which may hogging resources - in particular certain Antivirus programs.

What I do not see in your spec is the graphics card/chipset you are using - I assume you are using the integrated HD4000 of the processor.

Do you have Hardware acceleration for mp4 ...  and GPU for standard transitions turned on in the program settings?

Also are you using Proxy files?

What is the video like if you export to mp4?

John,

It was shot using an HD camera but imported as DV. I  always have used this with the MEP 11 and never had a problem. When I exported to mp4 it was much much better but still had a few issues with the slower "slow motion" clips. CPU for standard transitions was check but Hardware accleration was not. When I checked hardware accleration the dvd played similar to exporting as mp4 - much better but still a bit choppy. Could smart rendering be an issue - should I uncheck that option?
