Exported file to QuickTime, no audio on computer. Upload same exported file to You Tube, audio returns. Why?

Whenever I export a file to Quick Time (.mov), the audio is silent when I play the exported movie.  But when I upload the file to You Tube, the audio plays fine with the video.  The audio is fine during the editing process.  Is there some way to correct this?  (Movie Edit Pro 2014)

Hi

Is your QuickTime installation up to date?

.. . . the audio is silent when I play the exported movie. . . . .

Using which player ?

If they play OK in VLC then see this topic here - ignore references to iTunes.

If you do not have VLC Player you can use GSpot or MediaInfo to analyse a video file and determine which codecs have been used in creating the MOV file.

Note although GSpot is old is does have the advantage over MediaInfo of being able to determine if you computer can play the video file - use the 1,2,3 buttons under MS/AV bottom left of the GSpot screen.

What export settings did you use and did you change any of the standard presets?

Hi

Try creating the movie using the recommended Youtube settings.

Export the video from MEP2014 and then use the Youtube website uploader - not the one in MEP. Youtube have broken software by changing their  APIs for uploading several times in the past.
