Exporting audio from an active project as an MP3

Alistair-Pearson wrote on 7/24/2021, 2:11 PM

I have a Magix Video Pro X13 project open into which I have imported an HD MP4 video which I want to edit. I wish to export the audio from this clip as an mp3 to send in an email, however, using the EXPORT>AUDIO AS MP3 option does not work. I click on it and go through all the usual menus to setup filename, location, bitrate, etc. Then nothing. No progress bar. Nothing.

If I click NORMAILSE then it performs the normalisation and I get the progress bar along the bottom of the screen, but it does not mix down.

Exporting as literally anything else seems to work.

I'm a long-time Magix user, but this is my first project in Video Pro X13.

I'm running Windows 10 Home on a brand new Razer Blade Pro 15. My copy of Video Pro X13 was upgraded from a free trial. I have Windows Media Player installed.

Has anyone else had this?

Hi,

Grrrr, looks like you've found another bug. I can't get VPX13 (19.0.1.107) to export to MP3 either.

I tried doing a mixdown (Shift+D) which creates a wave file of your audio and puts it on a separate track and makes original audio disappear, and then exporting that to MP3. No luck.

One workaround is to then (after mixing down) right-click, Edit Wave Externally, export from there to MP3. Exit, don't save, undo.

Hello Allistair,

It is true, that in the English version Pro X13 version 19.0.1.107 cannot export as an MP3 file. This is a BUG in the English language version. By changing the English language version Pro X13 version to the German, Dutch or French language version, then it can be exported as an MP3 file. I have just tried this myself

Good luck,

Rob

It also works in German. This is very strange.

One thing I had to do on changing language was VPX would automatically restart but I could not load up a project. I ended up finding that on auto restart I would close VPX and when starting as normal I could load project.

I was able to open the project in French, but it took much longer than normal.

Anyway, the English version needs fixing.

Hallo John,

It is true that if you start Pro X in another language for the first time, it will take longer. This is probably because effects, templates, audio and the store must be converted to this other language. If you start it for the second time, the reading of your project is faster.

I'd love to! But, given that I only started using the forum yesterday, I don't know how. Do you have a link I could follow, please?

Hi Alistair.

Go to the top of the page and click on support, Click on the e 'Ask Support' box where it says 'Find a Solution'.. Click the Video icon. Then the Video Pro X button. Then the 'Search for other solutions' button. Type any nonsense into the search box and press 'Find a Solution'. Scroll to bottom of page and select 'Send a report request'.

And Ta-Ra!

That opens a support ticket.

Ray.
