Hi,
You sure can - with some stipulations of course. You MUST have a midi capable sound interface (either sound card or recording interface) AND you MUST use ASIO drivers for your interface. That is the software's requirements.

Next is configuring Magix to use it; ie midi and record parameters are set accordingly.

It's a little bit of effort but can be done with Magix Music Maker.

Yes, you can use EZ Drummer with Magix Music Maker MX. I am using Version MAGIX MX18, and the latest EZ Drummer with the Solo 1.3.0. Works great with the Magix. Nothing fancy with my setup, stock built-in audio and everything worked right out of the box.

To open EZ Drummer in Magix MX (after you have installed EZ Drummer and Magix of course).

First Find your path to your VST plugin (EZ Drummer):

  1. Open ToonTrack Solo (part of EZ Drummer)
  2. Select EZ Drummer at prompt, then OK
  3. Select "Options" tab -> Set Paths (Displays where the EZ Drummer VST Plugin is installed).
  4. Write down or remember this location (i.e. Mine was C:\Program files\Vst Plugins\Toontrack)
  5. Select OK
  6. Open Magix Music Maker MX (EZ Mode works best for this install)
  7. Goto File -> Settings -> Program Settings...
  8. Select Folders tab -> Select "Add VST plug-in paths" button.
  9. Search for folder location as described in step #4
  10. Select OK
  11. Select desired track for drums (i.e. Track #1 and select Drum icon far left dropdown) while in EZ mode
  12. On desired track for drums (step 11), look for the FX dropdown, just above it is a dropdown arrow, select it.
  13. Goto "software instruments" and select "EZ Drummer", this should start the program inside of Magix.
  14. Create your patterns and drag them into Magix
  15. Lather and rinse.
