Fades (transitions) Movie Edit Pro 15. Version 8.6.0.17 (C1)

I have Movie Edit Pro 15. Version 8.6.0.17 (C1). My PC is windows 7, 32 bit. This magix program is surely the most frustrating I have ever wrestled with. I am simply trying to apply fades to a series of photos. But I cannot alter the transition length. It remains at '0s'. No matter what I try. Sometimes it takes it upon itself to change to, say 2 seconds, or it might be 4 seconds, but as soon as I try to apply apply it, it reverts to 0.  I cannot see how to apply fades to a series of photos, so I try it one at a time, which with 20 or 30 pics is a bit long winded. But it doesn't always work, and even on the odd occasion when it does, I can't control the length.

Hi.  You might find this helps:  Go to the top of the program window and click on HELP.  From the Menu, either select 'Help' or 'Contents'. When the next menu opens, click on 'Search',then type in the word 'Transitions',(or 'Fades'),then click on Display.  All the help you'll need for applying and modifying your Tansitions/Fades will be found there. Also, try hovering your mouse pointer over the Fade, and you'll notice two upright bars with a small "arrow" through them.. RIGHT click on (the edge of) your Fade and just drag it longer or shorter.I have both MEP MX and MEP2013. Wen the "Fades" window is open,at the bottom there is a little box that shows "AB". If you have something like that, click on it,as it is the control for changing the duration of your fades, etc.Hope this might help       Ray (Tooley)

I'm not at my PC right now so can't dust off MEP15 to check the details, but try using the Manage Movies menu to add a new movie to your project. Then copy/paste everything to it and see if that behaves.

Hi.  Glad I was a little bit of help!   Just try to be patient(?),and I'm sure you'll work it all out!  Just remember: these programs are NEVER as easy as the advertising would have you believe, Have fun!      Ray.

Hello gentlemen. I've been abroad. I am, regretfully, back to this impossible program. I still, cannot, despite it not being too difficult surely, and your instruction, set the fade length to remain where I want it. Niether does the 'apply to all'  work. At least, I don't think it does. After all, if I can't alter the fade length from 0s, I probably couldn't tell! And furthermore, cannot set the picture length. Or alter their length at all. I go to 'file. Click 'settings'. Click 'program'. Select 'Video/Audio'. And there at the bottom, is 'Standard picture length'. Nothing I do persuades the program to alter any of my pictures, high lighted or not.
