Hi

Please include which software and version, your computer specification and Windows version when posting.  Screenshots and more detail would also be helpful.

Does this problem occur at the beginning of the movie or is it all the way through?

John

Hi John

This is for Magix Movie Edit Pro Plus 2013.

i7, 16GB Ram, 6TB HDD Space, 2 x Nvidia GTX 275, Windows 7 Pro x64 Bit.

The Feature Film preset is what i'm using for this particular piece, but I have tried applying to all footage I have and it is just the same, the annoying white lines on the edge of the border, so totally unusable. SD, HD it's all the same.

I've tried pasting an example here but it doesn't let me due to some access issues.

Is there a way of customising the feature film preset? Am I missing something with the configuration or something?

No feature film with letterbox 2:35 ratio has these white lines, it's a clean and crisp black all the way to the edge of the footage.

Thanks

james

Hi

I can reproduce a similar problem however not with white lines as you describe (see video below) however I think the cause is the same

As you will see at the beginning there is a problem - this is caused by the film effect being applied to the title - the size/position is wrong for the video aspect ratio and dimensions - as shown below (this is a composite image).

To fix this I removed the film effect from the title by ungrouping them and then deleting the mask as shown below

to leave just the title the final result is this

Alternatively if you are using several tracks for video / images you can:

1.   Apply the Film effect to one video object that is the correct size / ratio you want.

2.   Ungroup the video and mask

3.   Move the mask to a track below all the other video objects

4.   Position it at the start point you want it to take effect

5.   Stretch it to the length you require.

james,

Thanks for the additional information that John requested, but I am still much confused...

You say Feature Film preset which I initially assumed was a 'movie template' which you can pick when you start a new project. I've not got a "Feature Film' option in my MEP 2013 Premium -- perhaps I've not downloaded all that are available?

Then you say '...tried applying to all footage I have...' which suggests you are not talking about a movie template but some sort of video effect. Again a dead end as I've not found any reference to a 'Feature Film' effect.

Are you having problems with a DVD menu preset?

Note: For including an image you need to have saved your screen shot or whatever as a .jpeg of .bmp file. Then use the 'Image' option to point to the file, next upload it to the Magix server, and paste the URL you will get.

Regards,

Carl

I see John has just returned to the discussion -- I defer...
