File cannot be found

Hello everyone. I edited some movies yesterday and wanted to carry on working on them today, but when I tried to open the project I got the following error message: "The file that belongs to the movie could not be found. If the file is on a removable device or has been moved...etc."

I did not move the file or had it on a removable device. It is still where it was yesterday. How can I restore it and avoid that problem in the future? Thanks!

Hi

There should be several options in the 'File not found' dialog as shown below - one being a Folder button - click this and a file browser dialogue should open - point this to the folder where the file is and then click OK.

Movie Edit Pro should then continue loading the file and any others it thinks are missing that are in the same folder.

If this does not work then more information is required - screenshots of the dialog box would also help.

Hi,

This happens to me occasionally as well, and I do as John EB says. Normally the file is in the same location that the folder button opens. If not, then I have to go looking to see what I did.
