Hi,

First your version is quite old now we use 17 or 16.

Which file or file extension you try to open?

Normally you can open a file using the same program that has created the file and the same or newer version.

The file created with version 17 cannot be opened with version 14 but the file created by 14 could be opened with version 17 that is for file system.

Speak about file export and file import.

Difference a AVI, MPEG, WMV, MOV, MP4. or sound file like like WAV, MP3, OGG.

If you try to open a MP4 with version 14 good luck... same SWF

Regards,

YR

All that is true, but you can sometimes get such a message if the file/foler location is write protected, or you don't have the 'rights' to get at it. Always worth a shot. Depending on what format you do have though, there are plenty of free converters out there, or maybe it's time to try out a newer version? Cheers, M o' L.
