File Mix Up Perhaps? Can't use a few image objects, borders etc HELP

Hello all-

Hope you can help. Can't say how long this has been an issue because only a few items seem not to work but now the more I am digging into it, I see the problem is widespread. I am simply trying to add some image objects, in this case a pointer. A few pointers work, seems they are the ones with a png image stored in Program Data/Magix /Movie Edit Pro/OvelayFx/Pointers and the ones listed as .tga are not working. The error is that the file type cannot be read but this is the file type that the program comes with. It says, c:\_style\arrow_08\arrow_08.tga cannot be read. This is strange because when I do find one that will work, when I right click to get its image properties, I see the location as above in Program Files.

So, I went to see how far spread the issue is and when I go to borders, I get something really strange. They come up in German saying file c:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\jean....... etc etc.

So, has my files been corrupted? Please help! Thanks

Hi,

Using the same version as you, 17.0.2.171, I have no problems with the tga pointers or the borders. Something is strange on your end.

Sorry, can't help,

Hi.

So, has my files been corrupted?

By the sound of it, yes, unfortunately. I can't check on my installation of MEP, same version as yours, because it's currently doing a redownload of some effects. I think you need to consider an uninstall and reinstall but please read this tutorial about how to do this, carefully following each step. Although it was originally written specifically for problems caused by the Win 10 upgrade, the procedure applies to any version of Windows.

Hmm, TGA files. Suspiciously like the issue I'm discussing at the end of this thread:
