Find tempo of imported midi files

Jesnie wrote on 3/7/2021, 7:47 AM

Hi there :)

I downloaded some sheet music, so i could make it sound great. But the midifiles i import to Samplitude Pro X5, have a different tempo than my project, so my set tempo, does not match that of the sheet.

Does anyone know where to find the tempo of a midi file?

Hi,

I presume that you are using Samplitude Pro X.

As far as I know, MIDI files will take on the project tempo when imported. You set/change the tempo in Samplitude.

Yeah i figured that, but it is way to slow in samplitude, compared to the sheet. It is set to 115, but in samplitude it sounds more like 80. Maybe i need to make a change in Musescore, before i export the midi files.

@Jesnie

If you turn on the metronome and mute all tracks, does the metronome play at 115 BPM?

Do the bars in the MIDI objects line up with those in Samplitude?

Here is one of several tutorials by Kraznet about Tempo:

Check out the other ones on his YT site. They may be of some help.

Just to clarify, are you using Samplitude Pro X or Samplitude Music Studio, and which version?

I figured it out. The tempo stated at the start of the sheet was wrong (The writer of it told me) it was surposed to 190 bpm, and not 115.
And yes it is Pro X, latest version.

So not a midi error, or software error, but a typing error.
