Frequent hangs on a fresh Windows 10 install (Movie Studio 15 Platinum

Hi everyone. As in the thread title, getting super frequent hangs while editing (typically moving or splitting events). I'm working with MP4s I captured in OBS at 1080, with two streams of audio (one for voiceover, one for screen capture). And it's driving me nuts. Any ideas what could be causing this, or any logs I can retrieve to help shed some light on it? Cheers!

If it helps, HP Envy J130EA; i74700MQ, 12GB RAM, GeForce GT740M. Tried various combinations of GPU acceleration on/off, as well as manually assigning a video card to the application using the nVidia control panel, just in case that was the culprit.

For now I'm literally saving every edit or two but would like to get to the bottom of it.
