I have Movie Edit Pro 2014. After changing from Windows 7 to Windows 10 it is impossible to monitor full screen. When ticking off "video monitor fullscreen" the video disappear.
Go to purchase it on the Magix website and select upgrade. Do not select the monthly payment option but the yearly subscription. You will be asked for your previous version details and if applicable it will offer an upgrade price.
I would suggest getting the premium version but first make sure your computer meets all of the minimum requirements but preferablyexceeds all of them or you may find you still can't run the program fully or without difficulty.
If you are not sure that your computer specs are good enough, then post the specs here and we will advise.
At that point you are not committed to buying if you don't wish to proceed.
I have MEP2014 installed on Win 10 and it seems to work okay - although I just have it for testing purposes and have not used all it's functions - but the full screen preview works fine with 1920 x 1080 50P footage on the timeline.
v2014 is of course 32bit, so none of the 64bit plugin effects installed for the newer versions are accessible, but it works a heck of a lot better than it ever did on my older 32bit Vista machine.
You might want to check your graphics drivers are up to date as a possible fix for your picture disappearing.
Go to system / Settings / About. and all the hardware information is there. I need to know which Intel processor generation it is. So it might be an i5-4something something something. I need all the numbers ans letters please and see if it lists a separate graphics card. Do not give out any product or device codes. OS build of Windows would also be helpful. All details should be on the same page.
If Peter can get his version to work but you can't, it could be the file type you are using now is not supported by the old software. You can also try finding the programs exe. file and opening as administrator and running in Windows compatibility mode.
If you had an nvidia graphics card in your system it would have shown on the page I prompted you to so if you didn't see one listed you don't have one.
It should run but maybe without an additional nvidia graphics card inbuilt it may not be a very good experience.
If you can find an unused retail boxed earlier version of Movie Edit Pro such as the 2020 version from somewhere like Amazon you may find that will run better.
Your CPU is quite new and capable but the new version of MEP seems more concentrated on the use of an additional GPU to my mind. I may be completely wrong as it should run. What I'm worried about is how well it will run.
Do you have the nvidia control panel installed? Right clicking on the screen should bring it up and GPU details can be found in the app. If the laptop has an nvidia chip that may be loaded with it.
I do have the NV Control Panel installed on both the PC and laptop.
I normally use the Intel Graphics Command Centre as this detects both GPUs, the NV CP does not, however the latest update to it version does not identify the RTX 2060 by name as seen in the 2 images below
Old version Intel GCC
Current version
Looks like someone forgot to update the ID to its name.
You can only have the nvidia control panel installed if you have an nvidia graphics card built into your laptop.
Some screen shots would be really helpful about now. The exact version of your laptop would also help. Do you have a receipt for it that you could look at as it would give the model number?
We won't ask you to look in your bios as that could be disastrous if you don't possess the skill level.
As @Scenestealer has commented MEP 2014 should run fine. Did you check the Intel drivers are up to date - the latest graphics driver version is 30.0.100.9864.
