Genres and Soundpools in MM2021

Hello,

I'm a recently new user of Music Maker (MM2021 Premium).  I found @SP's post re a list of Soundpools, and have d/l'd the list (thanks!).
  https://www.magix.info/de/forum/list-of-soundpool-loops-by-name--1242858/
or
  https://www.magix.info/us/forum/hard-to-find-soundpools-where-loops-are-located--1271431/
Looking at the list, it doesn't seem to bear much relation to how Soundpools are currently listed in the Store.  Would I be correct in thinking this is a historical difference?

Also, @browj2 noted there are 9 Genres listed in the MM2021 app.
 https://www.magix.info/us/forum/are-there-more-genre-templates-for-song-maker--1267233/#ca1639032
Yet the Store shows 16 Genres.  Anybody know why the difference?

I got the bright idea that @SP's list could be updated/revised to better reflect how MM2021 and the Store currently show Genres and Soundpools.  Something along the lines of:
[Collection?]
Genre
 - Sub Genre
     - Soundpool Name
          - [Soundpool Data (Type|Name|Harmony|BPM)]

I've built a partial list of Genres, sub-Genres, and Soundpools here:

Does this make sense, or am I out to lunch?
John

@gjonny

I think I could modify my script to so that it generates a list similar to your idea.

But one problem is, that I don't have all current names of the Soundpools that are offered on Producerplanet. I will need to look for a solution to update all of the old Soundpool names so that current users can use a list more easily.

Magix changed the names of Soundpools multiple times in the past. It is quite confusing.

For example Rock Show was a Sounpool of Music Maker 2005. Back then it was called RockPop Vol. 3. Then there was Soundpool DVD Collection 2005 (aka Soundpool DVD Collection 10). Here you can also find a RockPop Vol. 3 Soundpool. It is like an expansion to the Music Maker one.

Later the Soundpools were re-released on Catooh. Here the Music Maker 2005 RockPop Vol. 3 was renamed to Solid Rock Part 1. And the Soundpool DVD Collection 2005 RockPop Vol. 3 was renamed to Solid Rock.

Some years later Catooh changed to Producerplanet and the Music Maker 2005 RockPop Vol. 3 was renamed again. Now it is called Rock Show. Solid Rock is still called Solid Rock.

You can find all names in the small print of each Soundpools description on Producerplanet. If you search for RockPop Vol. 3 or Music Maker 2005 or Soundpool DVD Collection 2005 you will find Rock Show in the search results. But it will take extra steps because you need to click through all search results on look into the small print which of the listed Soundpools was named RockPop Vol. 3.

I also believe that Magix changed the genre of some Soundpools after re-releasing them. Some Soundpools also got a handful of new loops which I don't own.

@SP

Comments in no particular order...
>> I completely forgot about Producer Planet, it has stuff not in the MusicMaker Store list -- another complication.

>> From what you've described, naming conventions have been a moving target.  Trying to reconcile old and new names could be a nightmare.  Maybe there should be 2 lists? -- the "old" one (as you've built it), and a "new" one, that starts with MM2021, and uses current organization and naming.  Keep the old list available, but start fresh now, with a new one. (Of course, Magix could continue to reorganize/change names, but that's a future nightmare.)

>> It would be nice to have a master list, but rather than trying to make the new list fully comprehensive/complete, put in whatever's easily accessible/known, and make the list user-editable, so each user could build their own list?

>> following on the previous idea (user-editable list)... users could share lists, and copy sections from others' to their own list.

>> looking on P.P., at Electronic/Ambient -- "Ambra"...
https://www.producerplanet.com/us/audio/loops-samples-250/?categoryId[]=253
there's a comment: <quote>The Soundpool contains all loops from 'Ambient Vol. 5 ', 'Ambient - Deep Horizon_pt.01' of 'MAGIX MUSIC MAKER 2007 / 2007 PREMIUM'.</quote>  So maybe add a "Note" section for each Soundpool entry in the list.

>> continuing to look at "Ambra"... I see a listing of how many of each kind of loop, but I don't see names?  Where did you see these?

Your thoughts?
