Hello. Hoping someone can help me.
I'm using Magic Movie Edit Pro 2016. I'm using Windows 10 with the following specs: 3.5 GHz Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M 2048 MB graphics.
So I'm trying to edit together a series of videos that each include an identical introduction at the beginning. I'm using multiple movies within the same project, and each movie has what should be my identical introduction at the start of it. I'm simply trying to copy and paste the completed introduction from movie to movie.
This 40-second introduction is basically a series of slowed-down short clips, each one immediately followed by a still image of the last frame. Each segment is very short - about four seconds in total - of which about the first 1.5 seconds is a video clip played at 0.5 speed using the "speed" tool; and the last 2.5 seconds is a still image of the last frame of the clip, created by placing the playback marker at the end of the clip, right-clicking, and selecting "create still image at playback marker" option.
So each section is basically a slowed-down video clip, followed by a still image of the last frame of the clip.
Here's the problem: BOTH the video clips and the still images "glitch". Every four or more frames, there's a single frame that appears to be positioned a couple of pixels down and to the left of the rest, resulting in a "jerkiness" in the finished video that is extremely noticeable. This happens sporadically, every few frames. It doesn't happen consistently - there are ten four-second segments that I've described above in the 40-second introduction, and this issue generally only affects three or four of them.
Some other relevant information:
- In the first video I created - practically speaking, the first movie in the project - the issue didn't happen at all.
- All the videos are different "movies" within the same project. As such, I've tried copying the original introduction from the first movie over to the subsequent ones. This doesn't work - the "glitched" frames just appear in the new movies.
- Since exporting the first movie, some of its frames have also become "glitched". I have no idea how this has happened.
- Removing the "glitched" areas and completely recreating them from the source video does not fix the issue. The glitches just come back (although not always in the same place).
- The source material is not "glitched". (Since the glitches appear randomly in the Magix software window and are inconsistent there, I don't see how it could be a problem with the source material at all.)
- The "glitches" don't appear anywhere else in the video - and the only thing I've done with the introduction that I've not used elsewhere is the "speed" tool.
- The glitches appear in the editing window - they're not something that's added when "exporting" the videos.
- I've removed every piece of editing from the affected areas apart from the "speed" change, which is necessary for the effect that I want. This doesn't stop the glitched frames from appearing.
I'm assuming that this may be some kind of bug with the "speed" tool, since it's the only thing I've used on the affected areas of the videos that I haven't used elsewhere. But I could be on the wrong track. In either case, does anybody have any idea how to stop it from happening?
Regards, DDL.
