Hello again.
Apologies for another post, but I am totally lost.
As per previous post, my laptop went overnight from coping well with my project to not being able to handle it all. I have tried everything, taken advice, but nothing helps.
So I decided to try laptop number 2, which miraculously came to life after a year. I have moved some files to the laptop hard drive and left others where they were on an external hard drive.
But when loading the project, I am getting a series of messages saying that VPX8 cannot locate various files. My lack of knowledge is really showing now. I do not understand why SFX which are still on the external cannot be found automatically, and why things such as Magix overlays are also out of reach.
I think I need to know the following: how do I ensure that everything accessed by laptop number 1 can be accessed by laptop 2? I thought I had transferred all relevant files from laptop 1, but clearly something has gone wrong.

@MCK

The most obvious question, perhaps: does your external drive have the same drive letter for both laptops? If laptop 1 reads it as, e.g., drive D, laptop 2 must also see it as D, because your VPX system and project files will expect to search "drive D".
