Help with MIDI exporting

eng101 wrote on 2/2/2012, 9:14 PM

Hello, I have a problem when I am trying to export a song I did on the program, and whenever the song is finished exporting, the MIDI grand piano file that was heard before exporting, is not heard at all on the playback but everything else is.  Is there anyway I can fix that, and export a song where I can even hear my Grand Piano MIDI file in the playback?  Thanks.

Are we to ASSUME you are exporting an arrangement as an AUDIO file?

(I don't mean to be insulting, but) Is the track with the MIDI object "muted"? (Yes, I know you said you can hear it otherwise, but we have to start somewhere.)

Try exporting only the track with the MIDI object(s) by marking as "solo" and see if it exports properly.

Hello, I'm sorry for not being as specific as I should have been.  Yes it is an arrangment as an audio file, and yes it's muted in the playback.  I also tried exporting it as solo, but that didn't work either.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks.

"and yes it's muted in the playback."

ANY track that is "muted" WILL NOT playback OR export.  That is the whole point of the "mute" button.

Oh yes sorry, I forgot to say that the track wasn't really muted.  But I still can't hear it on the playback and I tried exporting it as solo, and I never muted it, but it didn't work.  I couldn't hear the file on the playback, and I never muted it.  I don't know why I said that I muted it before, sorry.  Anyways please help me.  Thanks.

I don't know if I can help, but I'll try.

Which "Grand Piano" are you using?  One in MMM or a third-party VSTi plug-in?  If you change the MIDI to a different instrument, can you hear it play and will it export?

Oh ok actually I rechecked the window that pops up and here's what it says:

"MIDI objects can be found in the range.  Activate the corresponding Track VST instruments, so that the MIDI information in the file you wish to create can be heard."

So I am thinking that I have to do that in order for my MIDI file to be heard in the playback.  But I don't get what that window means by activating the corresponding VST instruments, so I am confused on that point.  Please help me as best you can.  Thanks.
