Heroglyph Plug In

Xenofex2 wrote on 11/25/2018, 4:14 PM

I have just decided to purchase and downloaded ProDad's Heroglyph 4.0 that I thought worked with/ as a plug-in within MEP. However I cannot seem to locate it within MEP. Hopefully I am right in my first assumption so should it automatically appear within MEP or do I need to copy the downloaded folder into a specific folder within MEP?

I have just checked and my version of MEP is 18.0.1.213 and no updates are available.

Now I am searching and trying to find a logical solution, I cannot find my Pixelan Plug-Ins either that I have both used (admittedly some while ago) and so had for a couple of years, as thought that would be the destination Folder that Heroglyph should be in. - Both a Pixelan Folder and a ProDad Folder I've just checked are in … C>(program Files) (x86).

Confused

George

Hi George

Came up in the Title Tab in earlier 32bit versions of MEP. Are you sure you purchased the Magix plugin version and not just the standalone?

Have you read th pdf manual where it tells you where to find the plugin within MEP? It looks like an older version of MEP they are showing though. The title tab they show isn't in the latest version of MEP. Its possible there is an another area such as MAGIX Tools in the import tab where it may appear or perhaps in the downloads folder.

Thankyou for the replies. At least I know now that the answer is not obvious.

I must admit that I did start to wonder whether it was a stand-alone version I'd bought but cannot recall an option to indicate what software one wanted to use the program with when purchasing. Plus when installing, I do recall a small box appear with Magix and a tick in the box as if it had picked up I had MEP installed..

I will continue my search.

Hi George,

According to the proDAD site, it should work as a plugin with MEP. Did you look for any particular instructions about this or was there anything during installation that required indicating that you wanted both the standalone and the plugin for Magix?

It should show up under Effects, Title editing, and not under Templates. Did you look here?

John

I have since looked at the Heroglyph Manual and note that where it shows I should find the program, my layout is completely different. I think I have looked everywhere within that Section but nothing obvious comes to light.

I have now raised a Support Request with proDad and have already had a response, which confirms what you said as to where it should be found, and have gone back to them for further help.

Hi George,

I just checked and my Pixelan plugins are under:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Pixelan

and they work fine.

John

Just looked and find that there are both Pixelan and ProDad Folders, with their respective programs in that same C:\Program Files (x86)\.

The reply from proDad tells me ……. "Magix has something in the UI of MEP. You can find Heroglyph V4 in the effects library/title section now."

Don't know what 'UI' means but assume this is the area where I should be looking?

Scenestealer wrote on 11/26/2018, 3:29 PM

Hi George

UI = GUI = Graphical User Interface of the program, which is what you see in your screenshot and use to interact with the program.

Have you tried searching with the Plugins Manager in Effects to see if it comes up?

Hi

Thankyou for all the advice.

At least I know that I am looking in the right area. However as the program can also be used as a stand-alone program, I shall use it that way until, perhaps finally, the penny drops.

Thankyou Again

George
