HEVC Export Window Disappears/Crashes

Skitch-Bryant wrote on 12/21/2021, 1:19 PM

I've exported most other file types just fine, but when I go to export an HEVC, it starts exporting and about 30 seconds to a few minutes in, the Export window just disappears and takes me back to the timeline edit screen. At that point, I can't export anything because the export window never shows back up again and I have to restart the program to get it going again. Since purchasing the codec, I have never been able to successfully export an HEVC.

Hi and welcome to the user to user forums. The first things you should do is make sure your operating system, graphics drivers, and program are up to date. I think your program should have an update patch for you to download. The program should have notified you.

Did you purchase the Magix HEVC encoder or the Microsoft HEVC decoder or both?

Can you export the project to other file formats?

Ray.

Hi

I addition to @CubeAce comment.

What make/model processor is in your PC?

In the Program settings, Device options tab what settings do you have and are using for the Import, Processing and Export options?

Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10850K CPU @ 3.60GHz   3.60 GHz

Everything is up to date drivers wise. I purchased the Magix HEVC Encoder. I can export the projects to other file formats.

Import: Quadro P2000
Processing : Quadro P2000
Export: Quadro P2000

What's interesting is that if I change the Export to the CPU, the window does not crash. But obviously takes significantly longer.

I actually don't have an RTX Video Card, I have a Quadro P series, so that driver is for a different series of Graphics Cards. I'm running Windows 10 19042.1415 with the 20H2 Build Version.

In addition to what the others have said, your version of Win 10, you write, is 20H2, which is two full builds behind. The latest is actually 21H2.

Yes. I checked, and that's the current driver I'm already running. @emmrecs I will update to 21H2. But the issue seems to be with Dedicated Graphics Exporting.

As stated above, if I disable using my Quadro P2000, and instead change the export setting to CPU, it works every time and the Export window does not crash.
