Hi. I'm using Music Maker 16 on Windows 8. Text to Speech shows 2 voices, but I get no sound output. Any ideas?

Is the text read correctly using the Test button in the Speech to text dialog box ?

If not check or try the following:-

1. The Stereo mixer is enable in Windows, Sound options, for a Realtek sound card see the image below (these are from Win 7 however Win 8 is similar)

2. The Microsoft text to speech engine - Narrator -, is working correctly on its own.

3. Audio format setting 44khz, 16 bit stereo in the Text to Speech dialog

The voices are not supplied by Magix - they are part of Windows - there are many sources on the Internet where you can download other voices.

Thanks for the advice. I've checked all of my sound settings and everything's AOK - but still no sound.

I just upgraded from Music Maker 13. Could that cause a problem?

It is just possible that MMM 16 cannot work with the Windows 8 Text to Speech engine. Do all other sounds in MMM16 play OK?

I would suggest you download the trial version of Music Maker 2013 and see if that works OK with the Text to Speech engine. It will install in a seperate folder to your current version so you will not have to un-install MMM16.
