Hopw to record audio to the time line of already edited movie

Hi,

We have a song with vocalist singing with band. The vocal is so low we need to re sing the vocal, lip syncing to the original one then we will replace with the new one. Have done with other progs before many times but not with VPX.

Track 1 is background for chroma, Track 2 is video clips, track 2 is audio to that video.

Can do the syncing etc, just need to know how to actually record to the same project time line while watching the video to lip sync with it.

Personally I wouldn't try.

I would play the track in Windows Film and TV and use the Microsoft voice recorder to sing into. Voice Recorder has the advantage of only using the mic input. Then import that track into MEP. Or if Magix Movie Maker allows you to import the video clip. Add audio to the track there. I do this type of thing with my copy of Cubase.

The problem with VPX or MEP is you can't record audio and play back the video clip at the same time.

With Cubase you can do all your normal audio editing functions including drop in / outs which will save time having to completely redo retakes or double track etc. Much easier and quicker in my experience.

Not true, I do it all the time. So long as what is on the timeline is not complicated, it should go smoothly. There could be a slight latency.

Hi John.

Thanks for the info. I genuinely didn't know that option existed.

It is better than my first recommendation of using Widows voice recorder although it's still not the best tool for the job and not flexible enough for the requested task in my opinion.
