How can I put together several projects in one project (movie) before burning?

Ihave found that working with longer project the processing is quite cumbersome. You have to wait the retracting of the objects, the cursor is slipping to the begining etc. That´s why I have tried to execute the project in smaller parts, which would be putted together in one video (movie?) before burning.

However, I havn´t succeeded in that. Could someone please help me in my problem?

I am using the Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013 Plus.

mhkale,

A friend regularly divides his films into smaller parts. For example, each day of a trip is edited as a separate project. His method is to export' each part with all its effects as a single video file of the best quality format appropriate for the final output and then string these together, perhaps adding simple transitions, into a new project. He usually selects his background music at this stage as it can act as a lead-in to a new section, and may also add some captions.

The finishing touches are now being applied to a twenty clip project with maybe ten transitions rather than hundreds of clips and even more still images and effects (color corrections, collages or zooms etc. Yes, a major change would require editing and re-exporting one of the sections -- but a sub project of five minutes is easier to work with than a two hour epic!

Regards,

Carl

Quite easy. Open the 1st project. The open the second without closing the firs. You'll need to hit the add new project button.

Now go to the 1st project. You'll see the tabs for the popen projects above the timeline on the left. Go to menu File->Manage Movies->Attach. Click OK and then you now have 1 large project. Keep doing that too attach all the rest of your projects.

Hi,

I use exactly the approach that Carl described.

The project I've just started, for example, will cover a 16 day holiday. Each day will be a single project with many tracks. These allow generous use of effects, microphone narrative, collages (which alone in some cases can occasionally take as many as 16 tracks for a few seconds) and so on. If I did all this in one project, even organised into separate 'tabbed movies', it would get progressively larger. Which could affect performance, loading time and risk of loss.

I export each project as a 1920 x 1080 MP4 and then drag these back onto the timeline for simple final tweaking. Then one large export to the final MP4 (for watching wirelessly on my TV, via my WDTV unit) and finally burning to a DVD (currently SD, not Blu-ray) for family and friends.
