How can I use wav files and mov files with Movie Edit Pro

pwlord wrote on 8/27/2013, 10:29 AM

I have been given a Magix "Holiday Pack" DVD with files for use with Movie Edit Pro MX but it says it cannot read the wav. files or the mov. files. which makes it virtually useless. As the DVD is supplied by Magix for Magix software, surely there must be a way of using these files. Any clues?

Hi,

Did you install the holiday pack or are you just trying to read the files from the DVD?  And do you have the latest version of Quicktime installed on you computer?

Hi,

WAV is a sound file and MOV is a video file. To view the MOV file you must install the QuickTime player this is free from www.apple.com " read the instruction how to install the DVD or use the DVD probably a Readme file on DVD.

WAV is a default sound file in Windows.

Hi Again,

yvon-robert makes a very good point.  .wav is a audio file, so I think I can conclude that you are trying to use the files direct from the CD.  Because if you were able to open the Quicktime (.mov) file and bring it in to your time line, the .wav (audio file) should have imported along with the vide file.

Hi

Is this what you have been given?

If so then there should be a setup program on the disc for you to run and install all the files.

Hi

I am beginning to suspect this may be a codec issue - do you have any codec packs eg K-Lite or other installed?
