Is Vasco da Gama just used for maps?

browj2 wrote on 3/30/2015, 12:52 PM

It is a travel route animation program. Other than my tutorial, take a look at the publicity videos for VdG on the Motion Studios site.

A VdG review states:

'Once you render your project to a high definition video file, you can drop it into your favorite NLE',

So presumably, even if your version of VdG and MEP are not connected you can use its map making facilities.

Regards,

Carl

@Carl,

Correct. VdG creates a wmv file that you import into MEP. My tutorial shows how to create the travel file, and allow for some zooming in and out, and pauses at points where you may want to insert photos or videos in MEP (cut the VdG file and insert), etc.

Not long after I did the tutorial, Motion Studios issued a patch that provides an extra zoom level. This solved one of the problems that I noted.

So for anyone who gets VdG, you should register and download and install the latest patch. There have been 10, I believe.

I now have version 9 and I am contemplating doing another tutorial, but this time using VdG digital maps as a starting point, then into VdG, then into MEP2015. A lot of people have viewed the tutorial, but I get no comments, so I'm not sure what people would like to see.

@Kathena

Don't forget to update to the latest VdG patch.

What error messages are you getting and what were you doing when they occured?
