How do i convert my AVC video so that I can use my magix movie pro 17 to edit the video.

When I have been making videos with my magix movie pro 17, everything looks great. Then the video is made and the audio doesn't match up to the video. It is like one second off. I am assuming this is because of the fact that the video is AVCHD and it isn't transfering properly. Is there something i need to do to correct this issue or a program i need to use to transfer it over properly. Thanks in advance.

I think I may have figured it out (possibly). But my files are recorder from a panasonic which records it in avchd settings. I bring over the files and make a dvd and everything looks good, the sound matches up. Then when i make a dvd, the sound is like 1-2 seconds slow. It appears now after doing a little more research that I have to download a free codec to transfer the files to the proper format. I hope this fixes it because this has been very annoying trying to get this video to work right.
