How do I export a video to youtub and facebook? I know you have to go to export but every time I try to do so it won't let me. I really am frustrated. I have a Movie Edit Pro 2015 that I bought from best buy. Everytime I try to export a video to youtube a window pops up and say an error has ocurred during export with an external video codec. Please check the export settings (resolution, framerate, etc.) and make changes if necessary. If problems persist, it is recommened to restore to default settings. I really just need some help. I hope I did not waste money on something. The video I'm trying to export is about 20 mins long. I have no clue what this pop up is trying to say to me. Please help!

Hi Tanya and welcome to the Magix community,

Which version of MEP are you using - year and basic or Plus/Premium?

Are you using the trial version or did you buy and register MEP?

Did you download all of the free addons? See under Help.

You didn't indicate what went wrong other than it didn't work. So what have you done? Which parameters did you choose when you try to export?

How are you trying to upload? Directly from MEP?

I am not a Facebook member so I can't help you there.

How long is your video?

One way to export and upload to YouTube is by selecting Share in the top menu line of MEP, and then select the first one on the list and follow the instructios.

For YouTube, MEP will export to an mp4 file and then upload it. The mp4 file will first be created on your hard disk. Check your folder settings under Program settings (Y) for the path. Look to see if your mp4 was created there. Was it?

This is the file that gets uploaded, so you can do it manually from YouTube.

However, I would first always view the video to make sure that the output is what I want. View the mp4 file in Windows Media Player first, then upload.

I just did a test with a short video and I had no problems sending it directly to YouTube.. I am using MEP2015 Premium, with the latest patch.

I have the 2015 Magix Movie Edit Pro. I don't know what you mean by MEP? It says on the package 64 bit support. I'm very new to this software and I'm really frustrated cause I spent money on it and I can't use it. Every time I try to export it this window pops up and say an error has occured during exportwith an external video codec. Please check export settings (resolution, framerate, etc. ) and make changes if necessary if problem persist it is recommeneded to restore default setting. I really and trully have know clue to what this means. Please help!

As a new user, you have a lot to learn. Movie Edit Pro = MEP

You didn't answer my questions. Please do so.

I presume that you have the basic version or you would see it at the very top left of the window:

You did register the program?

Press on E to get the project settings. Look at the video settings. What does it say? Post a screen shot if you can.

Is your video contiguous, meaning that what you have on the timeline is continuous, no gaps?

When you say export, give me a step by step of what you are doing. I can't see your screen; I can't see what you are doing, so you have to help.

Frame rate is in feet per second (fps). Resolution is in pixels: HD is 1920x1080. The others are listed.

Also, please read the help manual - Introduction, then Quick Start. There is a section on exporting.

Bump as I have a similar question.

Hi,

You should have started your own thread and included all of the pertinent information including answers to my questions above, and a step-by-step of what you did and what happened. Did you notice that the OP never answered my questions or even attempted to help out or even look in the manual? So, given the information that you have provided, none, I doubt that anyone can help. Try again.

I am running MEP, and registered.

Not sure if i answered all your questions they would be useful,.

But if you could look at the attachment, there may well be an answer there, screen shot suggests I may have no internet connection, but I do. If you can add anything or indeed I need to answer any questions please ask, i will acknowledge. Thank you.

Hi

The Share uploader in MEP 2015 and older versions no longer works because Youtube and Facebook have changed the API, this is the program that MEP communicates with to logon and upload the video since the last update to MEP 2015.

In the case of Youtube and Facebook you have to do the following:

Export the video from MEP using File, Export, Export movie as mp4 setting up the resolution to the same as the source material you are using.

Upload the exported file using Youtubes or Facebooks own uploader - you should see a link on their sites for this after you have logged on.

Note: Youtube will re-encode your video to different resolutions depending on the viewers Internet connection speed - this could be as low as 240p, for a very slow Internet connection, which is less than DVD quality.

HTH

I feel may be that the op  did not reply, is because the details you asked for were possible a little complicated for a novice, as I have also found, but I do understand your issue.

Hi,

The best way to create video file for web network is to export a maximum quality on the computer hard drive and upload directly to YT or FB. YouTube recompile to adjust the quality for various Web connection as low 240 to maximum uploaded file. In theory 240, 360, 480, 720, 1080 pixels and 4K.
