How do I get this thing to record again?

Was talking to a gur name Fred as responded to my first question. Hi Fred I tried  what you asked me to try but I'm still not up and running. I checked my fast track pro and made sure I was using it correctly. And actually I'm not sure exactly what a sound card is I looked in program settings on magix and looked in sounds and audio devices properties in windows but nothing that actually says sound card. I downloaded some asio drivers (as a pop up message keeps telling me to use asio drivers for recording) and now I can hear playback in record mode but still can't  record! The recording object starts but stops about 3 inches while the song keeps playing. I dont know what the problem is. I was recording fine and now everything is just crapped out! Spent hours trying to figure it out but to no avail. Fred can you give me some more pointers. And anybody else who haves knowledge of the "secrets of succesful recording on magix mm mx premium. Is anybody else having these same types of recording problems?

Your question is like an Essay, please be specific and mention problem.

Any way, as I did read your other questions answered by Fred and this one too. It seems you are not aware about sound card, also you did not set ASIO driver properly. That is why facing problem.

I do use audio interface and therefore, I suggest please read this tutorial
http://www.magix.info/us/where-sound-card-is.online-training.407089.html

only one thing, may be for opening Program settings instead "Y" key you have to use "P" key in new version of Music Maker. If you want to use third party asio driver go to the web and download (if you did not).

http://asio4all.com/

Now about recording, normally Magix Music Maker when we start it shows 16 bar and recording should be continued unless we stop but in your case it stop un expectedly right? could be due to asio dirver's settings.

According to the PDF of your MM MX PDF page 4 Playback area,

"Start and end markers "Ctrl + Shift" +cursor keys enables you to lengthen or shorten the playback area by a bar. Use this function as well to quickly move the playback area onto a smooth bar length."

Please also read PDF help file of Music maker. If you still face problem come back and ask question. REMEMBER secret of success depends on following instructions properly.

Hi,

Refering to MMM15, recording is only avalaible betwen the 2 upper marks defining the playing zone.

In order to record a large duration you have to :

. zoom out (-) to extend the time axis

. to right clik in the upper zone to define a right mark where you want to stop your recording in order to extend the playing area (yellow horizontal bar).
