pandoffq,

All you need to do is select the clips, un-group the audios from their videos (broken chain link icon or [Ctrl + M] shortcut) and then click drag on the junction between the two videos to move the position of those cuts, leaving the position of the audio cut unchanged.

Regards,

Carl

Thank you very much for the answer. Gotta love the learning curve on new software.

George,

You're very welcome. With MEP (and VPX) learning curves the word 'steep' takes on a whole new meaning! But then if you get a few basics to start working, the rest can come as you need it. I'm continually discovering new stuff -- often prompted by questions such as yours. So thank you!

Carl

In many cases you don't need to make L- or J-cuts with Magix, if you use "hard" cuts or fade-in and -out. We have lots of tracks. Simply place the new insert-clip on track 3, if you have video and sound on 1 and 2. Track 1 comes in the "shade", and is not visible, as the direction of sight is from bottom and up.
