How do I remove a video effect from a clip?

I cannot figure out how to remove an effect from a clip. I can't find anything in the help file.

If I add a Sepia effect to a clip, how do I remove just that effect?  Better yet, how do I toggle the effect on and off for quick comparison?

thanks

Hi

Right click the clip, select Video Effects, Reset video effects or press the Ctrl Alt and keys at the same time

Won't that remove every effect that I have added to the clip?  What happens to all the other effects that I've added to the clip, especially if I spent a lot of time keyframing those effects?  Surely I can mix and match effects without having to wipe the whole lot every time I don't like how one particular effect looks?

To remove an effect from a clip, do the following:

1. Select the clip in the timeline

2. Go to the effect tab

3. Choose an effect that wil make the keyframe editor appear. For example choose " Movement Effects/Size/Position" wil show the keyframe window.

4. Right click the effect in the keyframe editor and choode "Delete Effect".

True that it will turn off all effects - you can turn off effects without deleting by checking off  the appropriate check boxes shown in this image.

General effects first have to be selected => Edit => Ungroup (or press E) => Then delete

This way, you delete a single general effect without deleting your other effects.

(I know this is an  old thread, but I stumbled upon this same problem and there wasn't a single thread in which this was resolved)

Wow, that is an old thread! Don't remember it first time round. Not at my PC right now but reckon this would be one easy way to do it:

1. Make a copy Y of the edited object X.

2. Reset the effects on Y.

(Or, of course, just create Y by re-importing the original.)

3. R-click on X, Copy video effects and deselect the unwanted effect from the list presented.

4. Paste to Y.
