How do I save INDIVIDUAL recorded files as mp3?

perfecthoneybunz wrote on 2/2/2013, 10:55 AM

I only see the option to export the file as a whole to mp3. If I do an individual instrument or voice recording and I want to save that as an mp3 or wma or whatever music file how do I do that? Its only giving me the option to save it as a "FIX" or something like that which is not what I need. Help?

Hi,

I may not understand exactly what you are trying to do, but you can select one or more objects, save them as "takes" by selecting the object or objects, right click on the selected material and choose "save object as take".  Then bring your "take" back in to MM  (new project) and use "file / export" and export it to whatever audio format you want.

Have I missed something here?

Or, you can copy (or move) the individual object to its own track, set the start-end markers to the beginning and end of the object (or any point really), set the track to "solo" and export it in any format you desire.

Actually, you should be able to use the start/end markers and "solo" to isolate any portion of an object/track for Export.

Hi,

I like Procyon's answer better than mine as it is faster and much more effecient.

@Procyon great answer I had not thought of doing it that way
