I have Music maker 2013 full version....the basic set up i have is a mic and headphone jack on the front of my tower..and some on the back as well i have my mic in the mic jack and headphones in the headphone jack .... i must be setting up the recording wrong because the mic i use records low or dosnt hear me almost on every setting...and other settings it dosnt record my voice at all... it also sounds like playback is only coming thru one side of the headphones during recording...any suggestions would be helpful for a proper set up to record your own music!!!!!!

HI

In addition to Nihon69's tutorial you may need to turn on the microphone boost option in Windows (if it available) - a search of Google for mic boost for your Windows version will give you the instructions.

The mic sound appearing only on one side of the headphones imeans you have a mono microphone.

This is not an issues because after recording you can adjust this in MMM - right click the microphone track and select Audio effects, Stereo processor (or the Z key)

From the dropdown in the centre od the Audio processor panel select Both channels= left or Both channels = right depending on which channel the audio is present - you can then use the Pan direction slider to position the microphone on the audio stage.
