How do you disable Movie Edit Pro's 360 utility

Tusk wrote on 6/7/2018, 3:47 AM

Hello,

I bought the newest update of Movie Edit Pro (2017?) and it was working fine, when all of a sudden, when I tried to output MP4's to upload to Youtube, MEP was outputting 3D video (that is when uploaded to YT, you can rotate the image). So when the video is uploaded to Youtube, it looks distorted.

Magix support said it was because I had made my movie settings 3D, but I've never changed my settings from NTSC 1080i. Furthermore, my video aren't 3D, but the output is.

I ended up having to go back to MEP 2014 because it didn't have the 360 utility.

Can anyone tell me how I can disable this so I can go back to making 2D 'regular' video again?

Thanks

Hi again.

Have you tried simply resetting everything in the program to its defaults (File>Settings>Reset program to defaults)?

(Sorry if you've already tried this without success.)

Hello, Yes, I've reset to default settings but I still can't get the query to download the codec for MTS files and the audio still doesn't work.

Now I have a new problem, for some reason, it's not reading my jpg files from my camera phone, it's just black. It sees other types of jpegs....

This is after I reset the the software to it's original setting

Thanks for any help.... very frustrating

Do you have Plus or Premium?

Did you update to the latest patch? 2017 turns into 2018 and the current version is 17.0.3.177.

Hi, I ran update on the software, it downloaded & installed something, don't know if it's that patch. I don't think it's either the Plus or Premium, I bought this version online as an upgrade, Movie Edit Pro 2014

thnx

Sorry, I'm confusing this issue with my other post about missing audio on my MTS video files. For now I've resigned myself to getting 2014 to work right, since it doesn't have 360 editing. No idea if the Audio issue is also on my MEP 2017 because I uninstalled it to make room.

I'm confused. In the first post, you talk about 3D and then 360 degree and that the problem is the 360 degree utility. 3D and 360 degree effect are totally different and independent. The 360 degree utility is an effect under the effects tab - you actually have to go there and do something with it. If your screen looks funny, then click on the hamburger menu at the upper left of the preview monitor and make sure that Standard(2D) is checked, not anaglyph.

When you export, look at the export screen. Under the Export settings, second column, there is a setting that says 3D Stereo. The setting should be Standard(2D). Yours probably had "Anaglyph" or one of the other 3D settings.

Since you have removed MEP2017 or whatever, I guess that you can't test this.

Whether you have basic, Plus or Premium shows at the very top left of the program. There is a logo followed by the name of the program. If nothing, then you have basic. Plus or Premium will be indicated if you have one of them.

This worked for me: Export your movie in MAGIX format. Start a new project, import the magix exported movie and then export as MP4 (or whatever)

I'm not sure how MEP decides to start exporting as 360, but when it does I've not found any button/option to make it stop.
