How do you position titles in Movie Edit Pro 12?

I recently put a slide show together composed of a 13 minute radio interview and 52 images.  Everything loaded properly and plays back as intended, even the transitions.  However, the titles are another story.  I'm using the "Storyboard" display and clicking on the "Text" box in the upper left of each image frame.  The "Title Editor" window opens and in the "Text/Position" section there is a black screen with the word "Title" highlighted and centered at the top of the screen.  I can type in my subtitle, choose a font, adjust the size, and change the color.  What I can not do is postion it on the screen.  The 3 buttons "Left", Center", and "Right all work, but I can't figure out how to move the subtitles down to the bottom of the screen.  The Customer Service number in the Owners Manual has been disconnected and the website won't allow email questions for version 12.  Can anyone out there help?  If so, thank you in advance!

First of all, I advice you to use Timeline Mode when editing. This gives you much more precise editing.

I have ver 11 and 14, and think that 12 is the same.

On the left side of Title Editor window is a slider for up and down moving of the text, and on top is the slider for sideways moving the text. That's all!

bluewoody,

I echo (no, shout!) asoeli's suggestion to use timeline mode. Not only is the editing more precise but also much much more versatile.

Your title 'object' can be positioned exactly (when does it first appear) and stretched (how long is it visible), and you see on the timeline the duration of fades if you use them. You can have as many text objects as you want at the same time eg a main title above while several subtitles change below.

Though perhaps not appropriate to an interview film, your titles, like any other objects, can have transitions between and have effects applied. For some real crazy add a bit of 'Whirlpool' to a left to right scrolling title!

Added: In timeline mode you can put in one title, customize it as to font & position etc, and then copy it to all your other images. Then you need only edit the text, not have to repeat everything else.

Last but not least -- treat yourself to MEP17+ -- chalk and cheese!

Regards,

Carl
