How does one set the movie for export and export that movie file? - Magix Movie Edit Pro

I can't get Magix Edit Pro 2014 to render a project which only contains just one imported music clip.

Far as I can tell, start and end of movie has to be set whith the markers and the space inbetween should diplay blue. Is this correct?

When it comes to the rendering, the settings completely confuse me. It seems to take a hour or more to render 50 seconds and its unplayable? To make it easier to get started, is there any particular format video file should I import. into the program for successful rendering?.

What I'v discovered just now is that Magix is a little fussy about imported file formats.

I didn't get any plausable result's whith the AVI file that I imported for the test run.

But, the MP4 file I just tried now worked and I could render straight away whithout setting anything up. Though Magix did have to adjust the MP4 file when I imported it in.

So I guess one has to experiment a little whith the different formats they are working whith and see what works and does not work So I'm going to do a little research on what different formats I have and what the other programs convert them into and so on..
