How to 2x or 3x Speed of playback easily?

I have a 2 hour video, I need a standard 2x speed button which can be pressed. without having to sit here and hold a button.

Press L to start playback normally. Press it again to speed up playback to 2X, again for 4X, etc.

That does not allow me to hear what is being said. The audio mutes as it is fast forwarding. How can this feature not be inside of a movie editing software?

It is, but you didn't ask and didn't consult the manual, you just assumed that it couldn't be done.

I have no problem and can hear the audio even up to 32x, although at that speed, it doesn't sound very good. Try setting scrubbing to Scrubbing (Long).

Yes, it has some cracks and pops on my laptop, but I don't find voice indistinguishable at 1.25x or even at 2x. It may be a question of equipment, settings, project complications, version of MEP and OS.

Maybe someone else has a solution for you, or you can ask Magix.

I wouldn't say completely unusable but the sound quality is pretty poor, even at 2x. Definitely pops and crackles and broken voice. Compare that with VLC Player. Chalk and Cheese.
