how to burn disk?

I am using Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus and I cannot get the burning process to work. I created a project by downloading from my mini dv camcorder,edited the project and have tryed to burn a DVD but nothing happens.I chose 4:3 DVD Animated, applied the default template and then hit the burn button. It brings uo a "burning DVD template" which notes that my burning device is D:HL-DT-STDVDRAMGH41N,BURNING SPEED IS 2x. The used space indicator has a blue line indicating used space on medai 5513MB/4489 MB. It then indicates the disk is DVD-RW(4489MB)free 4489 MB

I then hit close but nothing happens. I would appreciate any help as I have used previous versions and burned DVD's and I tested the DVD burner and it works

Ok, I will take this from when you have setup the DVD menu in the burn selection.

You have stated that the space used is 5513 MB/4489 MB... you are trying to exceed the DVD limit, you can only fit 4489 MB on the DVD disc. The area I have marked off in red is indicating the space used versus the space available.

You will need to either shorten the project or burn to a different format.

Regardless, you wouldnt hit close, you would need to hit the flaming disc icon to burn. Close is just to close the dialog without doing anything.
