how to change movie length

I've created an 11 minute movie but rather quit playing as the video ends, it just continues to play another 30+ minutes of black screen. How do I change to where the end of the audio and video ends the movie and playback? I'm using a desktop with Windows 7 Professional.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Move the timeline cursor to the actual end of the video clip (11 mins) and press the I key - you should now have a blue bar extending to the end of the timeline as shown in the image below

Select Edit, Edit range, Delete or press Alt + Del

Playback should now stop at the end of the last clip.

Save the project.
