@Gregory-Richardson

Hi

Not a lot to go on - we need more information:

Is the sound on the video clip or coming from the computer?

  1. Are you using a laptop?
  2. Are you hearing the sound through the computer speaker of headphones or both - if headphones are they connected by 3.5mm mini jack, USB or Bluetooth?
  3. How are you recording the sounds ie what device how connected etc?
  4. Are you in an electrically noisy environment.?

Add any further information that mat=y be helpful.

The sound is not connected to a clip. It’s its own sound. I am using a Toshiba Laptop (in great condition), I’m hearing the sound the earphones I’m using. I also hear the sound on any other earphones I use. I plugged in a microphone to the laptop and I’m record my voice that way. And the environment I’m in is very quiet

Hi.

Do you still get the sound if you use Windows Voice Recorder to record audio?

If so the problem is either with the microphone or the audio chip of the laptop.

If it is a buzzing sound it could be a lack of signal path. A poor connection anywhere in the chain or a half broken lead.

If it's more like white noise do you have to use a lot of record volume to get a reasonable level? Then you need to find a different microphone with more gain. Powered mics like the Rhode Video Pro often don't work well with connectors expecting to power a mic at 3v. Older dynamic mics sometimes don't produce enough volume from their moving coil diaphragm.

An un-powered electret mic that needs an external 3v supply often does better. That is the type I use with my PC. My 9v Rhode mic is useless with my PC mic input. Or if using a powered mic, first try replacing the battery as your laptops input could be different to mine.

Ray.

Hi

. . . .  Toshiba Laptop . . . .

Toshiba Satellite C or L series?

I had the same issue with my Toshiba L series - the problem was caused by the headphone mini jack not fully being pushed home as shown below.
