How to have an image twirl in from the left to centre screen

1940 wrote on 12/23/2020, 3:55 PM

Hi, I am trying to see how i can have an image twirl/twist in from the side screen into the middle. I guess it is more of a title thing and I recall doing it many years ago in another program but even forget it's name. Maybe Ulead's Media Studio.

How can i do this and other TV advertising type effects with images please?

Thanks

Hi Oz.

I seem to be the only one around much today.

Sorry.

I really think at this point you need to spend some time reading your manual, looking at the tutorials on this forum, and learning what each of the supplied effects can do within VPX. Also get to know what the key frame editor is for as you will need to be able to use it to time the speed of the effects.

In this instance I would suggest you need a combination of the Size Position effect and the Rotation Mirror effect.

If you want an idea of what can be done with the base VPX editing tools have a watch of my Titling experiment.

Each of the titles movements could easily be changed into a change of scene. The combinations of which are mainly only limited by imagination and experience with what each effect can do and the imagination on how to use it differently. I have used combinations of masks, chroma key changes, track layer positioning, and size positioning as well as the Rotation mirror effect. Timing is done within the key frame editor. You may need to look at tutorials on each to get the hang of them. The effects in the video get increasingly more complex as the video progresses.

I remember you are a fellow Cubase use so please forgive my audio track, I'm not a musician but do my best to play and create my own audio tracks. (mainly to avoid copyright claims 😅)

Ray.

Many thanks CubeAce.. Yes looks like everyone is out Christmas shopping or getting shnocked at a pre-Christmas party :-)

Thanks for the video, yes that's some of the stuff I mean. Looks like I have some learning to do. Hard to read it all at my age and much easier to absorb via video tutorials.

Thanks again and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours

Hi Oz.

The best way to learn is to just use the effects. Play with them and see which one does what. That's all I've done. Eventually more and more will click. I think it's sometimes a better way of learning with no-one to tell you it is the 'wrong way to do something' That's when you find something new or understand something you didn't before.

The main one to get to understand is not an effect but the key editor. It gives greater control over the effects in use and the timing of the changes applied.

I don't know how old you are, I'm only close to retirement, so not too far gone yet 😉 and still learning and playing.

I doubt anyone in the UK is doing much shopping at present as most of the country is not open for business or travel at the moment.

Still we will do what we can.

All the best to you and yours over the festive period as well.

Ray.
