How to make a video black and white?

Gregory-Richardson wrote on 9/15/2021, 1:18 AM

I am using “movie edit pro plus”. And there is a small yellow and green square that connects to a long white line through the clip (it adjusts the black and whiteness of the clip) I need to put that yellow/green square and white line on another clip but forgot how to find it in settings. Does anyone know what I’m talking about? If so, where would I find that adjustment/setting? Here it is, in this photo:

Under effects | Video effect > Colour . Adjust Saturation.

Under the effects, make sure the eye next to the “Saturation Strength” is enabled to see the effect curve in the arranger. (See page 120 of the PDF MEP 2022 user guide)

You have to set at least one keyframe for the eye to appear. Click the "+diamond" icon to set one.

I believe MS 18 is similar to MEP 2021, so the MEP 2022 manual references probably won't be correct. They aren't for the MEP 2021 manual, Effects Curves are on page 164.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.
