How to register Sound Forge 6

Hi, I use Sound Forge Studio 6 sound editor for audiobook production because it's very lightweight, but I cannot register it or its mp3 plug-in due to server error. The old Registration Tool by Sony doesn't work either. Any help?

P.S. SF6 is only 24mb (compared to SF10's 150mb) and excellent for audio editing production. It has everything Audacity offers in a much easier way to find it. And once registered and running, SF6 never crushes because it is literally uncluttered. It's legendary!

Sound Forge 6 was a good build.. aside from the lack of VST plug-in support.
Legacy Sonic Foundry and SCS (Sony) applications like Acid, Sound Forge, Vegas, ect., can be activated on a 'new' PC through Magix. You must have a valid serial number for the product and the email address that was used when it was originally registered. Magix has the legacy products user info on file and the final builds for download. Go to Magix Service Center > My Products... again your original email address is needed to view your legacy products serial numbers, download and to re-activate on your current PC.

Your post mentioning Serif products includes one very major error: All their "Legacy" software, much of which is still available to registered users to download, now offers the Universal Registration Key, as you say. But your mention of the previous company owner, suggesting that the Affinity range of products is now manufactured and sold by a new owner, is completely wrong! Serif UK, based in Nottingham, England, were the manufacturers of those "legacy" products and are the manufacturers of the Affinity range.

In those circumstances (no new business owner involved) it is perhaps rather "easier" to be able to offer such a Universal Registration Key for all the Legacy products.

Hence, your attempt to draw parallels with various Magix products which were originated by other manufacturers, is not really applicable here.
