How to remove duplicate sounds

PJRabbitoh wrote on 1/17/2012, 3:10 AM

I downloaded the free version and loved it! Made it onto my xmas list and I received the Premium version as a present and installed it, without removing the trail version. Downloaded everything, it works, but I ended up with duplicate sounds, the same sounds appearing twice in the menu.

So I removed everything and reinstalled the Premium version. Now I have the sounds appearing twice, but the first copies dont work. I can't get rid of them and I have to scroll down everytime i want to use a sound, because the first copies at the top dont work. I also have style folders (bottom left of screen) appearing twice.

Anyone know how to fix? Very annoying.

Absolutely perfect Procyon!!! Thank you so much.

One more quick question, I also was given as part of the gift a bonus 2000 sounds. Now, i followed all the instructions, how do I know if I have them or not?

Is there a list of sound pools that should be visable with Premium plus the bonus 2000?

Ok, worked fine, until I restarted my computer, now all the duplicates are back. How do I get direct tech support from Magix? This is driving me crazy!

I have this exact same problem. I went to the link suggested but none of that made any sense at all. I downloaded Music Maker trial the other day and it worked great. Yesterday it crashed twice and would not work properly. So I uninstalled it and reloaded it. When I did there were duplicates of all the soundpools, most of which no longer worked. Now I have completely purged my hard drive of anything from Magix, bought the Premium version and installed Music Maker MX Premium Download version (18). Still I had the duplicates. I tried going into the files and deleting the duplicate files but then nothing worked right. I have uninstalled and reinstalled this 3 times. The third time it wouldn't even finish installing before I was getting error messages, etc. This program is not cheap and I do not feel I should be having this much trouble. What is causing the duplicate files and how can I prevent them from being installed? I am using Win7 Pro. Thank you.
