Hi again,

Make sure that you are in timeline mode. That way you can see how long the text object is.

Text is an object on the timeline, probably on track 2 or 3. The length of the text object defines how long it will remain on the screen. Click on the text object and drag the lower right hand side towards the right if there is nothing beside it. Or, change the length in the Title dialog box beside where it says animation. This will make the text appear longer on the screen, meaning that the scrolling has more time.

You can do the same with an image(photo), but it is better to right-click and select Change photo length and give it longer time. Time is indicated in minutes, seconds and frames (00:05:02 = 0 minutes, 5 seconds, 2 frames), so increase the seconds. This will cause the objects to the right of your photo to move to the right to make space for the longer photo.

I am in slide show mode and do not see where these tracks are. If I make the photo longer it will be too elongated. It already is so wide the text scrolling on the side is narrow. I have stretched out the text box but it does not slow down. The text is actually in a "Title" box because that is all I could find.  Thank you for your patience. This is all new to me.

I just found where to switch it to see the tracks, but stretching out the box still does not slow down the text..

You have to find the text object on the timeline and stretch it on the timeline. It is the object that has your text and the name will be something like your starting text. Double-click on it to see if it opens the text window and the text dialog box. If you can't find it I'll post screen shots tomorrow.

Thank you, browj2 for helping me figure it out! Between the animation button and the track changes I have it now!
