How to solve on exported 1920x1080 MPG4

I am exporting my project as an Mpg4 using defaults at 1920x1080 and finding lots of pixelation.

The original files are 1920x1080 Mov fiiles produced on Canon6D - these play without pixelation on PC and TV

Is there some setting which I should be changing when exporting

 

I am using MEP MX plus

I'll take a closer look in the morning (just going to bed) but that bit rate looks low. Try 6000 or 8000. Also try changing AVC Preset to High.

Hi

As Terry has stated the bit rate is way too low considering the original HD footage would have been recorded at around 16 -18,000kbps.

It does not seem as though you have used an HD template for the export because it has used a DVD preset which is not HD. Did you modify an SD template to increase the resolution to 1920x1080? Use an HD template and reduce the bitrate to what Terry suggests, if you want a small file size or data rate. Some blocking or pixelation will probably be inevitable with the increased compression however.

I thought that I had chosen the HDTV1980x1020 25fps but perhaps I had original chosen another and then nodified the size.

Anyway, I tried Terry's suggested settings and it would appear to have solved my problem. I have looked at your suggestion and see that the bitrate is 10000 as opposed to Terry's 8000. I assume that were I to use this I will end up with a leger file and  an even lesser tendency to pixelate/block.

Again thank you both for your help - as so often operator error and just needs second/third pair of eyes to spot the obvious - I feel a bit stupid
