How to stop Magix re-opening itself everytime after you shut it down?!

Apollo89x wrote on 5/14/2020, 1:13 PM

Another new fault has developed with MEP-

Everytime I close it down (the standard way by clicking the 'X' in top right corner), it closes down (after asking me if I wish to save the project, which I click no to)...
But then approx 5 seconds later it re-launches (just to a blank MEP), and so I then have to re-shut it down again!

Does anyone know how to stop this bug/error from ocurring please?
As it happens every single time I use MEP now!

~

I have just tested it with a completely blank screen (so simply opened Magix, then closed it straight away without adding anything into it), but it's STILL doing this exact same bug!

Hi.

Sorry, I have never experienced this. Have you ever started two sessions of MEP at once in the past?

Ray.

Hello but yes I often do that.
*Over the past week, when I had to re-edit & re-export my entire libary of commerical videos I was typically running 4-5 sessions of MEP simultaneously.

I'm guessing that's what caused this | As prior to that this never used to happen.

Yes. Sounds like you may have to tidy up a registry entry.

You could open Task manager and see how many instances of MEP you have running.

This is what one instance looks like. But keep Task Manager running as you close it and see what happens.

Thankyou.

I have opened & closed it 3x in a row, with no issues on any of these occassions....
So hopefully that previous issue was simply the residue of when I had run multiple sessions simultaneously earlier this evening.

@Apollo89x

You made this very sweeping assertion at the beginning of this thread:

Another new fault has developed with MEP-

Please do NOT do this (unless you have absolute proof of the "bug" and it is not down to operator-actions)!  No-one else was able to confirm this as a problem; by definition, any "bug" must be reproducible by other users on different systems.

It is clear the problem was caused by the fact that, by your own admission, "I was typically running 4-5 sessions of MEP simultaneously." Why did you seriously expect that closing ONE of those instances would also close ALL the others?

This thread will now be closed to prevent further unnecessary comment.
