You need to have a Sound Forge 9 Audio Studio installation file to install on another PC. If it was registered with Sony when you initially get it, log into the Magix Service Center> My Products to download. SF-9 AS is also available to download from the Sony Archives.
Be aware that some versions of SF-9 were included in a Sony turntable package and cannot be re-activated. You can also use your SF-9 serial to get an upgrade discount to Sound Forge Audio Studio 17 or SF Pro 18.

btw, welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @BJ-C.

THANK YOU @rraud!!! That worked!! I can't express how thrilled I am!! This is my 3rd laptop including my initial one that had the software. I never installed on laptop #2 because I just didn't think I could and didn't take the time to really dig in for info. Just kept the old laptop solely for Sound Forge! So appreciate your help!!!

With the SCS (Sony) versions there was an undetermined number of activations you could have on one license. With the Magix versions, you can activate Sound Forge on only two (2) PCs simultaneously. Anything beyond two, one would need to be deactivated and reactivated on the alternate PC. There is no limit to the number installations, but it could only be used on two PCs at a time.
In the very early versions of Sound Forge, a unique code had to be entered when installing SF from the installation disc,
